NEGATIVE HUMAN INFLUENCES ON THE DESERT
Humans have many negative and positive impacts on the desert biome. Development through mining or residential use is one way we are harmin our deserts. We also have began to damage are deserts by doing tasks such as Off-road riding. This can damage desert plants and pollute the soil. Humans’ hogging the water supply prevents rainfall from reaching the native plants. Killing rodents or predators that invade farms impacts the food chain that exists in the desert. Although it may not appear so, most deserts support fragile ecosystems that are easily damaged by roads, mineral refuse, or oil contamination that can come from industries or mines. These are just a few of the ways humans are harming the delicate balance of the desert biome.
POSATIVE HUMAN IMPACTS ON THE DESERT
As humans we must keep nature balanced in order for our world to be healthier. Some positive impacts we have on the desert biome, is that we have created organizations to raise awareness about these biomes. These organizations protect the plant and animal life within biomes. An organization, which actively saves the deserts, is Save The Desert. This is a government organization, which reminds the governments that the desert biome is worth saving.
